"SmartExperiences"

Yesterday was a tough, enjoyable and challenging day for me. Imagine, taking a Research course in a day!Today, is our Research Proposal defense. Wait. . .it's my turn. . .

We're off to Tagaytay for our closing program! The two weeks of really eye-popping ICT Training here in Dela Salle,Batangas was enriching both to me as person and as an educator. Professionally, it opened the horizon in teaching and learning. As a person, I met new circle of friends. . . and what more?. . . i could not recall how I managed myself receiving a news that my daughter was in the operating room. . .while her mother was on a training!. . . ahh. But if its God's will, He provides.Smartexperiences
indeed!!!

Learn Collaboratively

Learning does not only take place inside the classroom, it could take place within our global community. Telecollaboration makes this possible. What is amazing about this is the interaction of collaborators all over the world.

"Measure Me How?"

It was an 'authentic experience' with Dr.Marlyn Balagtas - learning more about authentic evaluation through Rubrics. With this kind of assessment and evaluation, both the teacher and the learners can monitor performance. Students are guided on how they should do a certain task leaving no room for doubt on how they are graded. Rubrics provide wholistic, analytic and critical way of evaluating learning.

The Quest . . .

Learning is best achieved if the learners are given a clear view about the concept, if their role and tasks are clearly defined, and if they have a hands-on-participation in the activities. Learning by doing provides them an opportunity to discover for themselves the meaning and relevance of a learning activity in a set learning environment. Project based learning sets a clear cut direction of where they should go and what is expected of them. It trains them to become independent and critical in their quest for knowledge. . .

Lost in the World of Technology

The photostory was a very interesting thing to do especially for the students. It stirs their imagination and develops their communication skills which are not limited only to speaking. It includes skills to effectively convey ideas through story telling using pictures, sound and visual effects, and the ability to arrange and categorize information.

The graphs and thinking maps are effective mind tools in teaching concepts.
